Linda Elgart

Linda Elgart is a third-generation resident of the area. Her interest in the natural beauty of the Connecticut River Valley started at an early age, while the estuary was her playground. She began her artistic career painting hand carved birds for a well-known bird carver. Later, Don Rosencrantz of Essex became her teacher of carved woodland and shore birds. After studying at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, her passion for nature expanded. She continued her education in studio classes at the Lyme Art Association. The Connecticut River Valley continues to be the inspiration and the subject of many of her oil paintings.
