Barbara Lussier

Barbara is a philosophical descendant of the Old Lyme and Hudson River School painters, who honored nature through observation. Her landscapes explore color and light and have been described as poetry. The daughter of a fisherman and boater, she experienced the wonder of the sea while roaming the coastline as a child. She studied at Ringling School of Art and explored the South Pacific, where she was dropped by helicopter on uninhabited islands to paint pink rocks and turquoise waters. Barbara is an elected member of the Copley Society, Hudson Valley Art Association, Lyme Art Association and Rockport Art Association.
