A lifelong admirer of art, Chaz Yanavich often visited museums and galleries wishing he could create what he saw. In 1999, after enduring his repeated “I wish I could do that” following a Van Gogh exhibition, his wife secretly enrolled him in a portrait drawing class and bought him pencils and a sketchpad. That began his artistic training. Chaz later studied portraiture with Litchfield artist Ronald Lee Anderson and continued his training with artists Larry Gluck and Duane Keiser. While portraiture and still life remain his first loves, Chaz enjoys exploring other media and creative outlets to keep his work fresh and evolving.
